       Ratings FAQ:

This FAQ is divided into the following categories:

If you have a question that is not answered here, please email the webmaster, and he will answer it as soon as possible.

Membership Questions:

What do I need to become a member and vote in the Course Rating?
You need three things, PGA 2000 Championship Golf, a valid email address, and to have played all the courses you will vote for.

Course Eligibility Questions:

What courses can I vote on?
Any user-created course made for PGA 2000 or PGA 99. This includes all courses released after the release of those games, and the original courses included with the games themselves.

Can I vote for my own course?
Yes. If you really feel that a course you designed is one of the 10 best courses available, you may vote for your own course.

Can I vote for user-created courses that are replicas of real-life courses?
Yes.

Can I vote for the courses that came with the game?
You may vote for some of the courses that came with the game. Another name for these are "stock" courses. You may vote for the fictional stock courses, but NOT for the real-life stock courses.

Ballot Questions:

Can I vote for less than 10 courses?
No. You must submit a ballot with 10 different courses or it will not be counted. We do not take less than 10 votes for many reasons, one of which is that by leaving courses off your list, you cheat them out of points. The main objective of the Dappawit Course Ratings is to list all the best courses available and thereby help people decide which to download. Allowing people to vote for less than ten courses would only make for an incomplete ranking.

Does the order of the courses on my ballot matter?
Yes it definitely does! Courses are assigned points based on where they are ranked on a ballot. The course you enter as your number 1 course will recieve 10 points; the number 2 course will recieve 9 points, and so on. Consider the order of your ballot carefully.

What aspects of a course should I consider when ranking them?
Any ones you want to. The idea is that you vote for which courses you like the most and for your own reasons.

Voting Period Questions:

What is the "Voting Period"?
The Voting Period is simply the time during which votes may be turned in for the Dappawit Ratings. A voting period usually extends from a Sunday morning to late the following Saturday evening. The new Dappawit Course Ratings compiled from these votes will usually be released on the following Sunday or Monday.

How much time is there between votes?
We release a new Dappawit Course Rating every four weeks.

The last Dappawit Course Ratings was released three weeks ago, so why is it time to vote already?
We allow our members a week to submit their votes. After that week, a new Dappawit Course Rating is released. So three weeks will pass from the release of a rating to a new vote, but since there is another week for that vote, the actual rating will be released four weeks after the previous one.

Miscellaneous Questions:

Why do you only list the top 10 courses?
We don't. Our members vote for their 10 favorite courses. We will add up those votes and rank the courses who recieved the most votes. This coud easily be the top 20, 30, 40 or 50 courses. It all depends on how many people vote and how many different courses are voted for.

Can I list my course's rank on my website?
Of course you can. You should include the date of the particular rank when you list it, though. Since we have new votes every four weeks, this will help reduce any confusion. We would also appreciate a link back to this site.
